...something...

I forgot to finish that thought and now it's gone. Whoops. Anyways, pitched the idea to my brother yesterday, and he has one requirement: He wants a single laser cannon in his garage, wall mountable, of course. So I ran some math today: the overall laser dimensions, in 1:1 scale, are 22.75 feet by not important. The average garage door width, for a 2 car garage, is about 16 feet wide. so, depending on the length of his garage, it'll be way too big. the next idea is to replace his computer desk legs with ones. this will prove to be a bit of an engineering challenge on its own. My brother has a proper butcher block desktop, with (if he hasn't changed them) 3-5 monitors at an average 12 pounds a piece. So in scale, the very tips of the emitters are... 0.22" in diameter... less than a quarter inch. and they're 3" long. that doesn't sound too bad to my current brain set... we'll play with this idea before we get any further with it. I have a sinking feeling that it'll be far too spindly to be effective. we'll have to see...

Anyways. Finding the proper materials listed for the cannons as been a beach and a half for a quarter. I know I said i was only building the cabin, but I got side-tracked... plus the heat sinks are really cool... I will not apologize.

I got some of the smaller portions 3D modeled, how the'll end up can only be a dream or a myth. My hope is for aluminum, but we'll have to see...
